In 2012, I bought a one way ticket to Thailand, "The Land of Smiles" and set off for an epic adventure in Southeast Asia. I lived in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, for 1 year. I immediately fell in love with Thai food! (There is SO much to the cuisine that we don't see here in the USA.) I immersed myself in Thai culture, even learning to speak and read Thai! I was ALL in! Not long after being in Thailand, I knew that I didn't want to live without the food or lifestyle! Bua Thai Kitchen is my dream to have what I experienced everyday in Thailand back at home in New Orleans. After living in Thailand, I moved to Southern California, known for its abundance of amazing Thai food, and learned even more about Thai cuisine. I do my best to travel to Thailand once a year to stay connected and to learn!
Bua was my nickname in Thailand, which means 'lotus'. (Thai people go by their nicknames). Bua Thai Kitchen is a culmination of over a decade in the food and service industry, a lifetime of being a foodie & cook, travels, adventures, and PASSION for plant-based lifestyle, the PLANET, and food as medicine. Bua Thai Kitchen is delicious, conscious, creative food for EVERYONE. Thai food is so diverse and vibrant and is perfect for a plant-based diet. I strive to source everything locally and organically, and most items are gluten-free! My wish is to show you how amazing plants are and that Thai food is one of the most delicious cuisines in the world! I also hope to inspire you to eat more vegetables, fruits, herbs, whole grains, nuts, and legumes! It is my pleasure to serve you and share my love of Thailand.
